....K,L,M,N,,,O....

What started with 'O'il seems to be ending with 'N'uclear Bomb. The politics related to oil is changing fast. US has managed Russia and China (India had already fallen in line happy with the N-treaty) to agree on positions against Iran. In the post 9/11 world, a sniff of nuclear bomb seems to draw attention of US more than a hint of black gold. Iran, which has world's 2nd largest proven natural gas reserves is being wiped out from the exporation maps of Shells and Exxon Mobils of the world. Iran has to managed to change world's attention by scaring them off with an idea of if not an actual bomb, then just of preparing one. This has been enough to bring the world powers to a Confrence Room rather than to another desert storm. So much so, that when Israel was contemplating of an attack on Iran, US, who were fighting in Iraq, didn't know what to do of that situation when Isareli planes flew over them enroute Tehran (though the reason was also that US troops in Iraq would have become a sitting duck for stronger Iraninan troops). Each and every time Iran is questioned by IAEA, Iran declares a nuclear site. This situation ahs confirmed the fear of Iran being close to forcing its way into N-club. The fear is that if it succeeds Saudi Arabia and other middle east countries would start the mad scramble of stealing, procuring, buying and if all fails developing nuclear weapons. And after all this, there is a high probability a radical worker or one in desparate need of money in these nuclear factories deciding to share it with any of his terrorist friends. Such a scary situation is something which is very possible. There are reports that Al Qaeda had in early 2000s or late 90s showed an interest in buying these weapons and even got in touch with the cocerned people. US is enquiring into what happened next. And most importantly Mr. A.Q.Khan is not being allowed to speak to FBI which can further embarass Pakistan.
All this and much more (which I plan to share subsequently) point to one changing trend- Nuclear over Oil. But still, the questions remain. is it business over survival? Or what is survival without business and vice versa? What is securing business interests over political interests? Lets discuss in subsequent posts.
